Advisory Update: Science and Visual Arts Buildings

January 15, 2023
Facility Update

On January 2,  to advise of the closure of the Science and Visual Arts Buildings due to repairs necessitated by flooding.

We are happy to report the repairs to the Science Building are now complete, and that facility will reopen on Tuesday, January 17, in time for the first day of the Spring 2023 semester.

However, the repairs to the Visual Arts Building (VAB) are more extensive in nature, and are still ongoing. As a result, the Visual Arts Building will remain closed for the first two weeks of the spring semester. Unfortunately, this will necessitate the movement of some courses to Grossnickle Hall or moved to remote status.

If you are scheduled for a class in the VAB during the period of January 17-27, please check with your instructor whether it will occur in person or via remote modality.

Faculty and students, please use the below table as a reference to determine if you are in one of the in-person classes impacted, and as a guide to the temporary location for your course.

We expect the Visual Arts Building to reopen on Monday, January 30, absent any further delays to the repairs.

We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause, and we appreciate the patience of the university community as these necessary repairs are completed.
